In spite of the cold weather and occasional snowy showers on Sunday, this weekend has seen thousands of volunteers joining in with NatWest CricketForce activities at getting on for 50 clubs across Somerset.
Volunteers supported by other members of the community, from clubs in all corners of Somerset from Cutcombe in the west to Bath in the north east, to West super Mare in the north and North Perrott in the south have turned out to prepare for the forthcoming cricket season.
This year once again a number of the Somerset players have visited some of the clubs involved including Andy Sutton and Arul Suppiah who went to North Newton CC, near Bridgwater, who will be competing in the top division of the Somerset League for the first time ever.
Neil Edwards and new signing Omari Banks joined in with the major redecoration work at Curry Rivel CC, while Pete Trego travelled to join in with the scoreboard and sight screen repairs at Claverham and Yatton CC.
Also lending a hand at Claverham and Yatton CC was Giles Clarke, the former Chairman of Somerset CCC, who is now Chairman of the E.C.B.
