Somerset have named a squad of 14 for Friday's Friends Provident Trophy clash with Hampshire at the Rose Bowl (2.30pm start).

Omari Banks, Zander de Bruyn and Alfonso Thomas are added to the 11 on duty at Worcester on Sunday when the match was abandoned because of rain.

That left Somerset with three points from their first two FPT fixtures and director of cricket Brian Rose believes the team will be in confident mood to face Hampshire.

Brian told somersetcountycc.co.uk: : "My only concern is that we haven't played any cricket since Sunday and are still a little short of batting time in the middle.

"But we have three top quality signings to add to the side who have performed so well to date and the competition for places will keep all the players on their toes.

"We will finalise a line-up, having taken a look at conditions. As always, with day-night games, the toss is likely to be significant."

Somerset have already beaten Hampshire in the FPT at Taunton this season and the hosts tomorrow will be without Dimitri Mascarenhas, who has gone off to play in the Indian Premier League.

"On the face of it that should make our job more straightforward," said Brian. "But Hampshire have other good players and we won't be taking anything for granted."
