SOMERSET GET GREEN LIGHT FOR CLUB HUB.
There was good news for Somerset earlier this week when they were granted planning permissionby Taunton Deane Borough Council for the 'Club Hub' that will adjoin the Ondaatje Pavilion on the River Tone side.
The new building will house the players changing and treatment rooms and the club offices all under one roof.
It is expected that the preliminary work will commence in the next three to four weeks, which will be followed by the demolition of the red brick building in front of the Barnicott Building in late August and early September.
The building work will be carried out during the winter and it is planned that the 'Club Hub' will be open in time for next seasons Twenty20 and the Women's ICC Twenty 20 World Cup.
Somerset chairman Andy Nash told somersetcountycc.co.uk: "This is the next stage of the ground development and will keep the momentum going. The first stage of the redevelopment work at the County Ground was aimed at improving the facilities for our spectators now this next phase will improve the facilities for the players and officials."
